About Toni Ertl

I have been living in rural North Oxfordshire for more than 25 years, after moving here from South London in 1990. At first it felt like being on holiday, but quickly became home for us.

Although this area, and the Cherwell valley in particular, are now very familiar, there is always something special to see and make me want to reach for the camera.

For those who care about gear, my first own camera was 'empire made' - no idea what model it was, but it was a birthday gift from my parents. I progressed through a Lomo 'Cosmic Symbol' then a Pentax P30, Minolta 7000 and Bronica ETR medium format camera (my pro camera) before taking a break in the late 90s. More recently digital cameras have been obtained and I currently shoot with Nikon and Sony kit.

Before the days of digital I did a lot of printing, and find the ability to work with images on screen wonderfully easy after spending so many hours in the darkroom.
